Ischaemic stroke is an important cause of mortality and morbidity. There are many conventional risk factors for ischaemic stroke like hypertension, diabetes mellitus and dyslipedemia. There are some nonconventional risk facters also for ischaemic stroke like plasma homocysteine.In this study we got a positive correlation between plasma homocysteine and ischaemic stroke and its mortality.
